Half Term Felt Poppy Making at Newbridge Memo

This half term, Newbridge Memo are holding a fantastic free to attend workshop. This felt poppy making workshop is being held by the talented felting tutor Sally Pointer.

This event will be held as drop in sessions in two segments at the Library space onsite.

Suitable for all ages – no booking required.

Session 1: 11am-1pm

Session 2: 2pm-4pm

Singin’ in the Rain at Newbridge Memo

There are not many films that are as beautiful as the classic Singin’ in the Rain, so why not go and see this this wonderful film in the beautiful Newbridge Memo.

This will be a dementia friendly, relaxed viewing. This means that the Newbridge Memo will providing a relaxed setting which offers quieter volume levels, lighted seating area during the screenings and an accommodating environment. The Newbridge Memo dementia viewings are also suitable for those with special needs or disabilities.

 

Doors open at 10am and the film starts at 10.30am.

Half term children’s craft activity; make your own toys at Newbridge Memo

Take a look at Newbridge Memo’s 20th century toys and make some to take home with you this half term!

Why not visit one of Wales’ most iconic buildings, the Grade II* listed Newbridge Memorial Hall this April? 

This amazing ‘Heritage Experience’ is an immersive journey through time, telling the story of the creation, demise and final restoration of this beautiful building.. This visionary building was created by the miners of Newbridge and dedicated to the men who lost their lives in WWI. The whole experience is designed to bring you closer to a community and its desires, ambitions and dreams.

Your unique journey we will take you back in time around ‘The Memo’. You will have the chance to sit back, relax and take in our short film in the beautiful Auditorium and explore time’s ghostly footprints in the elegant Ballroom. Your experience will end with a cup of tea or coffee and the chance for you to have your say on what you think is important for the future of the building.

Tour starts at 1.30pm and booking is required.

Ticket Price £5 per person including tea/coffee. Subject to availability.

Regular Heritage Experience Tours are available throughout the year (on the third Monday of every month) and are suitable for all ages from 10+. The ‘Experience’ lasts up to 70 minutes. There are stairs throughout the route but alternative routes are available for those with limited mobility; please raise any requirements with Newbridge Memo at the time of booking.

Britain’s Got Talent finalists Circus of Horrors will be making their debut at the Memo in November – this is a frantically delectable show that you DO NOT want to miss!
The Circus of Horrors started it’s gruesome begging’s at the 1995 Glastonbury Festival and became an instant hit, touring all over the world from Chile to Chatham, Argentina to Aberdeen, Japan to Jersey including festival appearances with Alice Cooper, Eminem, Motley Crue, Oasis, Iron Maiden, The Manic St Preachers, Foo Fighters, Rammstien and many more.
