Blackwood RFC invite you to their fantastic Cider Festival this May!
This event is perfect for the bank holiday weekend (Saturday 26th & Sunday 27th May 2018) as it will feature live music from a range of bands and fifteen different ciders to try. There will also be a bouncy castle, barbeque and children’s entertainment too!

Musicians Against Homelessness is an initiative set up by Emma Rule in 2016 with a twofold aim: to raise money for the homeless and to help young musicians to get gigs and exposure for their music. This grass roots rock music movement has already raised more than £100,000 for homelessness charities since it started. Why not head along and help them raise some moire?
With some great bands and musicians there, this is going to be a fantastic night for everyone!

The popular Caerphilly Food Festival is back on Saturday 12th May 2018 and is sure to delight locals and visitors alike!
There will be over 100 stall holders coming this year bringing a wide of delicious food and drink samples to please us all and give us the opportunity of trying some of the fantastic products that are made locally. There will also be cake demonstrations, activities for little ones, street shows and live music from RecRock! Additionally, there are lots of wonderful local places to eat and relax in (please see our Big Phill Guide to look at the local places recommended by our followers) – the perfect day to head to the wonderful town of Caerphilly!

Over 100 stall holders will tempt visitor’s taste buds with samples of their delicious goods to try and buy – along with a wide range of unique crafts. This year the event will also feature exciting demonstrations from Broil King BBQ Theatre and some top class cake decorating workshops.
There’ll be plenty on offer for the little ones too, with numerous activities scheduled for throughout the day, including puppet shows and workshops, animals displays and craft workshops. Among the demonstrations and workshops, walkabout acts and street shows will be parading the town, entertaining the crowds, as well as RecRock Music who will offer live performances from local singers and groups.
The town centre is host to a number of high quality public houses, cafes and fast food outlets. Go to the Visit Caerphilly website to find out where to eat.
If you would prefer to bring your own food to the event, take advantage of the picnic area in Dafydd Williams’ Park (located to the side of Caerphilly Castle) and other places around the beautiful medieval castle. Alternatively, head to Morgan Jones’ Park (a short stroll along Crescent Road), where there is a children’s play area and splash zone and lots of open spaces for picnics – pack the children’s costumes and let them have a bit more free fun!
