Goldilocks Storytelling Trail at Bedwellty House

Splatters of porridge have been found all over Bedwellty House & Park, but who could have made them?

Could it be someone with long blonde hair and blue eyes?

Join the Louby Lou team for an exciting storytelling trail this February half term as we try and track down that naughty Goldilocks once and for all. Perhaps we should take a trip to the three bears cottage to see if they can help?

£6.50 per child

The trail will be heading outdoors, so please make sure you dress for the weather. The recommended age for this trail is 3 years and above.

Booking is essential as spaces are limited – call us on 01495 353397

The Winding Engine at The Winding House, New Tredegar

The award winning Winding House is always a popular visit, but did you know that on specific days you can watch the Engine Volunteers run the Victorian winding engine for members of the public?

If you’d like to see this, then head along to The Winding House on the 30th June, where you will also have the opportunity to chat to volunteers who maintain the engine and ask them lots of questions!

The Winding House is built on the site of the former Elliot Colliery. The museum’s centre-piece is the original Victorian winding engine. This remarkable machinery was used to operate the cages which transported men and coal between the surface and the mine below.

Our dedicated and enthusiastic Engine Volunteers maintain and run the engine for members of the public on specific days throughout the year.

The engine runs for approximately 10-15 minutes.

Please note, the engine no longer runs on Bank Holidays.

Running the engine is dependent on the availability of our dedicated engine volunteer team. On very rare occasions, scheduled engine running times may not take place due to unforeseen circumstances. Please call us to confirm engine running times in advance of your visit.

Free Entry.
